Business Development Associate/Manager

Multiple Locations - Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine 


Summary

The Business Development Associate/Manager is responsible for curating relationships with contractors, builders, and construction professionals to facilitate the sales of lumber, building materials, and millwork.


Preferred industry knowledge (but not required), excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage accounts while supporting the growth of new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  •  Identify and target potential customers, generate leads, and support the closing of sales to meet or exceed revenue goals
  •  Build and maintain strong partnerships with contractors, builders, and other industry professionals. Provide expert advice and recommendations based on customer needs
  • Product Knowledge and Consultations: Stay informed about lumber, building material, and millwork products, industry trends, and pricing to provide suggestions and solutions that meet customers' needs and requirements
  • Problem Solving and Support: Address customer concerns, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales process
  • Collaboration: Work closely with inside sales, outside sales and senior leadership
  • Reporting and Forecasting: Maintain records of sales activities, customer interaction, and market trends to provide insights for current and future business

Qualifications

  • Experience in business development or sales, preferably in the lumber, building materials, or construction industry
  • Strong understanding of wood products, engineered lumber, building materials, millwork and blueprint takeoffs
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned territory
