Christopher Whalen
Mr. Whalen is Founder and Managing Director of Belmont Elm, focused on providing a range of integrated solutions across all industries, companies and corporate functions. Since forming the firm in 2023, Mr. Whalen has served as CFO of Moynihan Lumber, Managing Director of PE firm White Winston and as a strategic Consultant on a number of engagements.
Prior to Belmont Elm, Mr. Whalen served as Controller of Deerpath Capital and as Vice President of Finance and Administration of ESDEC US, leading both Organizations through change of control transactions (acquired by PGIM & Blackstone respectively). Previously Mr. Whalen was Vice President and Controller of Treasury at Blackstone and had formally served as Vice President and Controller of Alternative Investment Solutions and Tax Advantaged Investments for State Street Corporation. Mr. Whalen began his career at State Street and has worked for J.P. Morgan and State Street Global Advisors.
Mr. Whalen graduated from Bentley University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He also holds an MSA from Suffolk University and an MBA from Cornell University.
